NASH-A Gardner Denver Product

Chemical Industry

Chemical plant

Gardner Denver Nash has supplied the global chemical industry with safe and reliable vacuum systems for more than 45 years. NASH vacuum pumps, compressors, air ejectors and engineered systems maximize output and efficiency while minimizing maintenance and pollution into the environment.

NASH liquid ring pumps and compressors use a fluid compressant instead of pistons, vanes of rotating lobes. The liquid ring eliminates metal-to-metal contact and delivers cool running, low maintenance performance. While water is an excellent seal liquid and is often used due to its availability and convenience, at Nash we know it is not always compatible with chemical processes applications.

When water won't work NASH pumps and compressors can. In many chemical applications, trace amounts of water cannot be tolerated in the product, and in some applications alternative seal liquids can yield process advantages. NASH vacuum pumps and compressors can operate with a variety of other liquids including sulfuric acid, benzene, ethylene glycol, gasoline, and many, many more. Our experienced team of application engineers can recommend a seal liquid that is compatible with your process gases.

NASH solutions are engineered to work smarter. From hermetically sealed pumps that eliminate leakage, to engineered hybrid vacuum systems that optimize efficiency we deliver smarter solutions custom tailored to your specific requirements.

Chlorine CompressionCompatible Products

In this application, chlorine gas is recovered and compressed. The seal liquid is concentrated (> 96%) sulfuric acid. Materials used must be compatible with this highly dangerous gas and seal liquid.

Hydrogen CompressionCompatible Products

This application involves the recovery of hydrogen gas. The low molecular weight of hydrogen and its explosive nature create challenges when selecting equipment. NASH compressors are ideally suited for this application due to their liquid ring technology, which minimizes the chance of explosion.

Solvent RecoveryCompatible Products

Gardner Denver Nash has been supplying efficient and reliable vacuum systems to the chemical industry worldwide for more than 45 years. These vacuum systems maximize output and efficiency while minimizing maintenance and pollution into the environment.

Vacuum FiltrationCompatible Products

In this application, the moisture from the filtrate receiver of a vacuum filter is collected and fed back into the system. If a system upset occurs, such as the failure of the filtrate pump, slugs of liquid can carry over into the vacuum system. Soft solids from the filter can also enter the vacuum system. In both cases, the liquid and soft solids will not damage the liquid ring vacuum pump, improving the overall reliability of the vacuum filtration system. A variety of seal liquids compatible with the process vapors may be selected in order to minimize contamination of gases extracted during the filtration process.

Vapor Recovery/Gas BoostingCompatible Products

This application differs from vent gas recovery in that the vapors recovered are of a relatively fixed composition rather than a variable mixture. A typical application is capturing gases vented from storage tanks. The vacuum level is closely controlled in order to protect the storage tanks. Usually the discharge pressure is relatively low. Often these gases are returned to the process or are liquefied and returned to the storage tanks.

Vinyl Chloride Monomer RecoveryCompatible Products

In the monomer recovery system, unreacted vinyl chloride is transferred into a holding tank. The vacuum system scavenges gas out of the PVC and delivers it to the compressor at or near atmospheric pressure. A single stage compressor system then compresses the gas for condensation and storage as a pressurized liquid.
